Personal Folders Size Limit using Micorsoft OutlookBackgroundEmail and contacts and appointments are all stored by Microsoft Outlook in a PST file. The size of that file is limited to only 2 GB on older versions of Outlook. As the file size increases and approaches the 2 GB limit things get unstable and it is very easy to lose all your email and contacts. Needless to say, if you do not have them backed up somewhere, this can create a very big problem for you. (Backing up your PST file instructions can be found in the Microsoft Support website. We will add a link here in the near future. The Archive Folders are NOT kept in the same PST file as Personal Folders. That is one reason it is a good idea to archive your mail periodically. It keeps the Personal Folders PST file size down by moving the items to the Archive Folders PST file.

This procedure will also work on the Archive Folders PST file size. You can have multiple Archive Folders - just be sure to name them differently and observe the size limits on them, also.
